If you're new to crypto or just unboxing your Ledger hardware wallet, understanding how to use Ledger Live is essential for safely managing your digital assets. Ledger Live is the official app that works with Ledger devices like the Nano S Plus and Nano X, offering a secure way to send, receive, and monitor your cryptocurrencies.
Visit the official Ledger website at ledger.com/ledger-live to download the app for desktop or mobile. Install and open the application to begin.
Follow the on-screen instructions to set up a new Ledger device or connect an existing one. You'll be prompted to choose a secure PIN and write down your 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is your backup—store it safely offline.
Using Ledger Live, go to the “Manager” tab and install apps for each cryptocurrency you want to manage (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum). Your Ledger device must be connected to complete this.
Add accounts for each coin, and use the “Send” and “Receive” tabs to transfer crypto securely. All transactions must be confirmed physically on your Ledger device, keeping your private keys safe offline.
